    1986 Johnson 40 hp question

    I just bought a 86 40 hp Johnson. On he rear of the cavitation [plate there is a round recessed section with a hole. On a Mercury it is where a anode tab bolts. I presume the same on this Johnson. However I can't seem to find one on the internet. Am I right? Also where to located one? Thanks

    Motor swap power difference??

    I have a 15' bass boat. It had a 40 Mariner that lost a cylinder. I have the chance to buy a 25 Mercury Bigfoot 4 stroke. Would this be a good replacement? I have never ran a 4 stroke engine and was wondering about the power difference. Also are these motors reliable?

    Mariner power head replacement??

    I have a mid 80's 40 HP Mariner with broken piston. Will a 30 HP power head bolt on as a replacement? They look the same but I don't know if the will interchange and did not know where to ask other than on the forum. Thanks

    I am wanting tio hear from someone that has used them. The ones that have the automatic shock adjuster. I have a 18' V hull run about closed bow with 140hp outboard. It porpusses and is slow coming out. I have heard these help. Would like to know if they are a major difference. Thanks.
