    I have had water in the drive oil a few times, I made a pressure testing adaptor and bought a vacuum tester. Also bought the spanner tool to remove the retaining ring to the prop shafts to replace the seals. Also have had to replace the shift actuator double lipped seal as well.

    Hello, I had my 98' 5.7 GSi rebuilt and I will be getting it back in the boat soon, but winter has started and I will be running it in temps above 0 degs-40's to break it in. What oil viscosity should I use? Manual says 20w/20 for temps 0-32 F and 30w for 32 degs and above. Can't find any...

    I have a set of VP service manuals and it only shows flow for the engine with Raw water cooling. And yes there's a expansion tank.

    I installed the trim limiter so I didn't have to guess if I was in the "safe zone" when trimming the drive. Usually the promblems I've had stem from wire corrosion and bad connections

    leaky throttle shaft on TBI

    I noticed some fuel leaking at the throttle shaft of my TBI and the throttle was sticking at idle, I've read about bushings for this problem. Has anyone done the bushings or had it done on their TBI?

    well I got the trim to start working again after splicing the broken black wire but the trim gauge is still pegged, I did try to adjust the sending unit to the 11 ohms prior to finding the broke wire, so I will revisit the sending unit setting tomorrow, thanks for following!

    update#4 went ahead and cut the black wire at the sending unit connectors side and spliced it it the limiters black wire. will test it soon.

    update #3 found the Black wire broke at the backside of the trim limiter connector to the sending unit, can I cut the connector out and splice these wires? I know the sending unit uses resistance to tell the limiter the position of the drive, will splicing the wires affect that function?

    update #2 was able to operate trim in both up and down while using the override switch.

    I also have a Striper Sport Cabin with the same engine, I found a trim limiter on Ebay and installed it to keep my drive in the right range of trim while under way. Got tired of the guess work.

    update: I tried using the override switch and the drive comes up but won't go down. I'm sure it was in the right range to go up or down prior to the testing. So for some reason I only have trim up when I use the override switch.

    pressure at test valve atop VSR at 9psi., so I guess I will try again on adjusting the float, right after I figure out why I lost O.D. trim function after testing ignition circuit.
