I plan to keep boating as long as my health allows me to/ I am 75 and I have been boating since if was 15. Now I did downsize to cut operational costs. My last cruiser was a 1981 Carver 3007 Aft Cabin. Operational costs were pretty high. A trip from Gibraltar Michigan to Put in Bay Ohio cost me...

How Do You Utilize Sliding Rear Window on Your Pickup

I use mine to facilitate air flow. In the summer with the A/C on I open the slider about an inch to let air in and then out the opened slider. Do the same sometimes in the winter to heat up the interion.

    2024 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

They replayed several angles and each of them showed him getting hit on the chin by the helmet. Pro football needs to adapt the college football targeting rule.

    Florida snow

You guys down there have more snow on the ground than we do here in S/E Michigan.

    2024 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

Was not even close to a clean hit. He took a helmet on the chin. Dirty hit and should have been flagged. In college that would have been targeting and the player ejected from the game.

80th Anniversary of the Battle of The Bulge

I I really think that there was no choice for the U.S. entry into WWII. The December 7th 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor had to be answered therefore the declaration of war asked for and granted to FDR on December 8th. 3 days later Germany and Italy declared war on the U.S. There was once again...

    2024 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

It was fun Sunday watching my Detroit Lions put the game against the Cowboys so far out of reach the officials could not have a bearing on the game unlike last year when the blew it.

    The End

This past Saturday I put some fuel stabilizer in the tank and topped off. Dropped the boat off at the dealership for the 100 hour check, winterizing and shrink wrap. Season is done. Had a great season and looking forward to 2025.

    Lake Ontario

This past Saturday I managed to go to Put-in-Bay again. Lake Erie was showing 1 1/2' chop. It was a bumpier ride than last weekend but still an enjoyable trip. There were not many boats out on the open waters of the lake. Pretty much had the lake to myself.

    Boat age vs financing.

A lot depends on who you obtain for any financing needs. In 2015 I purchased a 1981 Carver 3007 Aft Cabin model. I went to my credit union and asked if they would finance the boat. The said yes but I had to have a survey report. Well I did get a survey done as part of the buying process. I gave...

    Lake Ontario

This past Saturday morning when I got up I checked outside and the leaves on the red maple tree in front of my condo were not moving at all. I turned on my portable marine weather radio to get the forecast. They said that winds at Grosse Ile were calm. Winds at Monroe were calm. Winds at Toledo...
