    1982 50hp evinrude Please HELP

    which way does the retaining plate position, it has a hole!!! besides the three threaded holes for the bolts that hold bearing carrier. Which position do i put it in, it can be at 12 oclock, 7 oclock, or 5 oclock !!!!! I have been getting different opinions on this!!! No one seems to be sure...

    retaining plate and bearing carrier alignment

    my motor is a 1982 50hp evinrude!! my question is i removed the bearing carrier and replaced seals and bearings already, but on beginning of assembly i noticed that the retaining ring the three bolts that go through carrier thread into, has an extra hole in it between the threaded bolt holes ...
