I removed the outdrive only, not the bell housing or gimbal ring. Do I need to realign the coupler and bell housing? Wouldn't it be aligned if I only removed the drive unit?
I have a 1973 115 hp Mercury that is just sitting in my garage. I believe all it takes is someone who knows engines well to get it going. Compression is good on all cyl. I hate to throw it out, but I have no use for it. Any suggestions?
I have repaired my exhaust bellows, now what is the trick to lining up the spline to get the stern drive back in? This is my first time so please be gentle. :)
I have just replaced the water pump impeller and housing. As I tighten the housing bolts I can no longer turn the impeller shaft by hand. Is this normal? This is my first water pump replacement.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to install the exhaust bellows on a mercruiser 888? I have it clamped to the bell housing, now how do I get it attached to the flange on the stern drive side?
