    I've got a 1991 Mercruiser 3.0L and as far as I can tell it only has two sub-par fuel filter elements in the whole system. One "stone" filter in the belly of the fuel pump and a screen filter at the carb. Nothing that removes water though. My question is... if I splice in a canister style water...

    How serious is this 3.0L Mercruiser rust issue? *PIC*

    Did a detailed inspection of my motor last weekend and noticed that the 4-bolt plate that covers this area is starting to rust pretty bad around the edges. Something I'd be concerned about if it held in some kind of fluid... but probably wouldn't worry about too much if it was just a dust cover...
