    Ok I went fishing yesterday and everything was fine . After fishing abit I cranked and started my run and rpm would not go over 5000 rpm, I back of the throttle and hit it again and it would go to 5500 rpm, but I had to back throttle to get it to do it.     I am thinking of upgrading to a Rude/Johnson90HP instead of buying a new boat and I am wondering what my 1988 Johnson 50hp would bring or trade in value. If I could cut the intial cost in half I would do it.

    Tilt/trim bleeding down

    When I trim engine up it bleeds down fairly fast, I constantly have to keep hitting up to keep it trimmed out. No outside leaks so what I am thinking is I have internal bleed by. Is it easy to repair pump. Motor and pump are mounted on right side of motor.<br /><br />1989 50hp Johnson

    1988 50hp Johnson O/B tilt/trim

    Was wondering if there are rebuild kits around for a prestolite tilt and trim pump on a 1988 Johnson 50hp outboard and what is the bleed down time recommendation. When up on plane every 20 to 30 seconds I have to hit the trim buttom to keep motor at proper position. No leakeage around actuator...

    1988 johnson 50 hp outboard/ carbs

    I pulled my top carb off to see if I had any trash in bowl and was a little suprised when I took bowl off and not one drop of fuel was in the bowl. Ran engine last Sat.is this normal or do I need to do a rebuild while I have it off.

    1989 Johnson 50hp/high speed chug

    while running at 5200 rpm, I am getting a bog down condition after a few mins at that rpm down to about 4900 then it will creep back up. I am leaning towards a fuel restriction or restricted fuel filter but was wanting to get some ideas. All other speed settings are fine.
