Just got back from a fantastic afternoon on the lake. All is well and no warning horns when under way. temperature, oil pressure and all the gauges reading normal. Thanks again for the reassurance and advice.
No. I obviously didn't do it last year. Just had throttle in faste idle position at initial start up and gave it a "blip" while it was there. Won't be making a habit of it.

2006 5.0 MPI Mercruiser.
Alarm sounding at over 2500 RPM when in neutral. All fluid levels are OK and temperature and oil pressure are normal.
Is this a thing that happens in neutral ???
Not ventured further than the dock at this point until further invetigation.
Just got a Chaparral 215 SSI (2006) Loving the boat but never had the MPI before on a boat. Advice on the best grade of fuel to use would be appreciated. Ethanol free ?? octane rating ??? any information is helpful. Thanks in advance.
Just closed on our first Chaparral. it's a 2006 model 215SSI with 170 hours on it. 5 litre Mercruiser with fuel injection and an Alpha outdrive. Unfortunately after just getting it we have to winterise and wait for spring again !!!! Oh Well !!!!
Just got back from China again. Have a quick Monday to Friday trip to our Mexico plant 11th to 15th July. Going to go get the boat out of winter storage next week and hopefully on the water on 9th July. Late start again due to the business travels but will see what we can get out of the...

So much travelling this year I just got home 36 hours ago. My resolution next year is to spend more time out here. I have neglected to over the last months. Anyway. Wishing everyone a Great Christmas season and a wonderful New Year.

Looks like a heavy calcium build up on the underside. Any tips other than the regular hull cleaner ??? That stuff is shifting nothing. Tried some toilet bowl cleaner as well with minimal results.
