    Update to 1985 150 Johnson rebuild.

    Found my compression problems. Finally finished tear down and found that 5 pistons had rings that were stuck, very very stuck, and the 6th had a broken ring. Pretty lucky though all cylinder bores are in pretty good shape, no major scoring or scratches. Hope to start getting it put back...

    Got new rings and leaf valves. Trying to remove powerhead and it won't let go.     Does anybody know where I can find a spark plug wire set for this motor. All the charts I have looked at for sets do not show a set for this motor.

    In-dash voltmeter.

    Where should my voltmeter be wired into? Can it connect to the purple wire on the three prong connector from the control box?

    1985 Johnson 150hp - Won't throttle up in the water.Update

    This motor runs great out of the water with muffs on, but put it in the water and boggs out and dies even out of gear. Idles ok but still eventually dies out.
