    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

I'll take the housing off and double check. Is there a gasket there that needs to be replaced or sealant? Or can I just take it off and put it back on? What would be the best way to check the impeller output in the water?

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

I talked to Mercury again, different person. They said every engine calibration is different but a general number to set the alarm off is 215 degrees. Im not close but I'm also not far away either, atleast on the port side. I did use a IR temperature gun to get my readings. From what I've...

Exactly. You would think there would be some type of number or range.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

Spoke to Mercury today. They said they do not have a temperature spec for manifold and elbow. Basically said if there are no alarms or codes then it's within range.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

I've read it's normal for each side to have a different temp reading so the difference in temps side to side don't bother me too much. But the 190 makes me wonder. Wonder if I could get ahold of anyone at mercruiser to answer the question.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

150 is the motor temp. Manifold/elbow temps are 170 starboard and 190 port. That's after coming off plane riding around for a hour at 3800 rpms.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

Yeah I was just trying to do what the manual called for, parts wise. Again it rubs great, I just thought/assumed it should be cooler. I reused the ball valve T fitting on the bottom of manifold. I cleaned them out before installing but could they be bad or restrictive some how?

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

How would I go about doing that? Manifolds have a fitting at the bottom that 2 hoses run to. Elbow has 1 big hose running to them.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

Makes me feel a little better and it ran good with no problems. The little bit I've seen online says it should be cooler but there wasn't enough talk and evidence to support that. I have the Merc manual and it does not give a specified temp it should be.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

I took the motor temp reading on the housing. I should've done it at the motor or intake manifold. Regular gauge and smart craft gauge both say 150 motor temp.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

.Poppet valves were checked and are good. . Flappers looked good when replacing elbows and manifolds. .Used a IR temp gauge to measure temps. .It is a 4 port housing. .All temps taken with boat warmed up. High number were after a hour long cruise, mostly at 3800 rpms. .Impeller is brand new.

Brackish water. I can take them back off but I just Installed the manifolds and elbows, brand new oem and then took out for a test run.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

Everything I have found says the elbows and manifolds should always be able to be touched. Found a few things says temps should be anywhere between 120-150 at any given time.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

Yes there are separate hoses going to the bottom of the manifolds and well as a hose going to each elbow.

    350 mag mpi manifold/elbow temp

2011 350 mag mpi, raw water cooled. Just installed brand new manifolds and elbows and hoping someone could give me approximate temperature my manifold and elbows should be at idle and when coming off plane. At idle, port is 150 and starboard is 130. At 3500rpm in neutral, port is 135 and...

    Find us the right boat

I've been noticing the mid to late 2000s have a better seat balance layout so that may help some.

    Find us the right boat

Yes, lean bad to one side or the other. I know I can use the tabs and control and I do. Just wasn't sure if there was a different style or layout that would help.
