    replacing clutch dogs....

    1981 Evinrude 35hp outboard...need to replace clutch dog and possible foward gear. I have never been in a lower unit. How easy or difficult is this? Any special tools involved? I have a manual and it looks fairly easy. I need to save some dough...nearest dealer says it's about a $500-700 job...

    81 Evinrude 35hp kicks at higher speeds....

    Idles great, have plenty of power on throttle, but will kick erraticly when running at higher speeds.Any ideas? Thanxs.

    dead cylinder...rebuild or sell it?

    81 Evinrude 35hp good idling, bogs out on throttle

    just got it from someone who had it stored in a barn. Didn't know if it ran. I took it out today and all I could get it to do was idle. Throttling while in nuetral was good, but as soon as you put it in foward it would get all boggy, sputter - kick around then die out. It would troll along fine...
