    Coupler Grease Fittings

    I have an alpha 1 gen 2 (1997)on a 5.7 merc. I almost cant even feel the coupler grease fittings because of the engine position in the boat. Is it necessary to grease these or since I have the drive off can I just lube the splines? Does this grease go anywhere else in the coupling or just lube...
