Hi my room mate just aquired a 1974 mercury thunderbolt 7.5hp and we replaced the water impellar and put the lower unit back on but was hard to shift into foward and we pulled the lower unit off and tried to reallign the gear shaft with the gear selector in reverse and both were in the reverse...
