Hey guys. First post here, long time reader.

Just picked up a ‘87 Bayliner Capri 3.0. I have no spark while cranking. Points and coil have been changed with a running boat and no change. Was digging under the dash just checking out wiring and found some definitely messed with wiring on the kill switch ( lower left on the steering wheel). Ideally I am trying to find a wiring diagram but having no such luck. Found a ton for 3.0 merc’s but no OMC’s.

Appreciate the help!

if you dont have a dwell meter, get one. trying to set and troubleshoot points without one is simply guessing

Simple wiring on dat one...take a test light and see if ya have 12V in and out of kill switch with key on...if so ya got distributer problem. You can also test for 12V at coil with key on....
