Hi. I have a 01 tracker 50hp mercury motor s/n OT413714. It runs great once we throttle it but at idle and low speed it wants to die. Hard to start afterwards like it was running lean. Have to choke once and then it will fire up again. Is there an idle speed screw on these motors?

Any other thoughts?

Yes there is a low speed idle adjustment, simple fix just need to know what screw to turn. Would not hurt to check the filters before the carbs.

If it ran before, and now acts like this, it probably has dirt or gunk in the carbs. dis-assemble and clean.

Where would I find that screw. Does someone have a schematic. The boat sat for a year or so. No doubt that the carbs need to be clean but would prefer to do that in late fall not right now. Especially if all I have to do is bump up the idle just a hair
