I have found two different documents indicating the weight to be either 4500 pounds or 6000 pounds. Can anyone shed any light on this? I am pricing a new trailer, and this may make a difference in my decission.

Your dry weight is about 6000 lbs. Go to http://www.wellcraft.com, click the link for "owners", and then look for "product info guides". It contains all the basic information about your year and model of Martinique. I have a 2000 5.0L, and somewhere between mine and yours, the model gained 1500 lbs in dry weight according. Options like generators and air conditioning will make a difference.

Also available through their website is a generic cruiser manual for model years 2000-2003. This lists the dry weight at 4500 lbs, but this manual is not model year specific like the data sheet for the product info guide. Plus, given how much bigger this boat is than our previous 21' Regal, it's hard for me to believe it only weighs 1000 lbs more than the Regal. It just doesn't add up.

Keep in mind too that you will have fluids, supplies, and gear in the boat, so allow extra weight for that. The best way I suppose would be to take it to a certified scale with and without the boat, subtract the values, and get an exact answer. There might also be a VIN plate on the trailer to indicate its rating.
