Guy is saying is has a 6 amp alternator ? True ?
He has no manual, compression is 115-120-115. Starts w/rope and runs very smooth. Is this an OMC or Suzuki motor ? Plugs looked very clean w/tiny corrosion under connector. Very little oil on plugs. Beige color some. Motor has seen salt but he swears he flushes it every time. There is a freshwater ramp right on his street, so maybe true. Looks excellent but he wants $3600 so... ?

Iboats has a new (unused)2001 leftover 30 hp evinrude 4 stroke for $3559 with a 18 month warranty. Check www.nadaguides.com for pricing of used outboards. Sounds a little pricy to me.
Good luck

I thought it was a little high, but he says he is ready to deal. How about the alternator output ? This is pull start only, so I thought it was correct. 6 amps is barely enough to charge both batteries. How can I fine out the alternator output ?
Other than measuring it...Does my reading of the compression and plugs seem correct ?

Should be no oil on plugs. Ed's Marine lists a new 30 HP electric for $3599.

Not certain, but I believe 6 amp is correct for that HP.
