FYI this motor, idles on 2 cyl, and other 2 kick in @2000rpm. I can't keep the motor running unless I pump the auto-choke at the key. After few hours running fine on the lake, turned motor off,it wouldn't restart or run unless choking continuously. I rebuilt the pump, replaced plugs, filter and primer bulb, but same symptoms. gas vent is ok. Got any ideas? thanks

Have you tried pumping the primer bulb while engine is running? Could be air leak in line to tank. Disconnect fuel outlet hose on fuel pump to make sure pump is working(connect long hose to catch fuel in container for safety).

Tested output side of pump prior to rebuild kit and it just flowed a bit. Will do again just to verify. Should fuel flow or stream under pressure from the pump? When I tested it before it was just flowing a bit. thanks

Should be a steady stream. Actually it should be atleast 1 psi pressure at cranking rpm.

If this checks out you may need to rebuild carbs or at least take off and blow out all passages to clear out any trash that may be in there.

I'll double check the pump output and then start the carb cleaning if that isn't it. Thanks again for your help...
