02 SunTracker (what's it worth?)

I'm looking at buying an 02 SunTracker Fishin' Barge 25' Signature series with a 115hpTracker outboard. The boat is in excellent condition and nothing wrong with it that I could see. I checked nada to get the actual value of the boat but they only list it with a 40hp outboard. The guy is asking $12k for the boat. What are your thoughts? Thank you

In my area in all most perfect shape sitting on a good bunk trailer, may be 7000

Print out the nada info including a 40 hp and a 115 hp by year and come up with an offer to present the seller. He can negotiate or you
can walk away. There are many other boats out there.
As the news has been saying as of late "stand your ground"

Ahoy there, fellow Arkie. I agree that $12k is silly. $8k to $9k sounds reasonable assuming everything is in turn key condition including the trailer.

Yep he's stuck on $12k so I'm back on the hunt again.

I'd like one with atleast an 80 horse or bigger on it so if y'all see of any within reasonable driving distance let me know!

Check Boattrader.com to see if they have any comparable units listed within close proximity to you.

At least the boat's got the proper engine on it to do water sports with. So many purchase pontoons with 50 horsepower, and they just don't have enough get up and go for me.

Craigslist is a good place to check almost daily. Check the ones as far away as you are willing to drive and check out a boat.
I have found most items on craigs list are a little overpriced. Usually the owner wants to pad the price a little so he can bargin.

Well I gave my bank the vin numbers to the boat, motor and trailer and they allowed up to 11,600 on the boat. I called the guy and offered 10k even and I'd buy it this weekend if he'd let me lake test it. He agreed on the deal and I'm picking it up today

I think you did pretty good especially at the height of the season. When I was looking last July, anything decent sold in days. I settled on a 97 Signature 25' Party Barge with a 2003 60HP Two stroke big foot and matching Trailstar trailer. Double biminis plus a full, hardly used camping enclosure. Upgraded audio system with two amps and sub. Paid $7K last year and was glad to get it even though some of the vinyl needs replaced. Former owner lost the playpen cover in the lake and left the boat uncovered for a couple of seasons. Have since got a new cover.

I sold a 22' Premiere, 1999 with a 40 hp last year for $10,500. That boat would get 12k all day here and be gone in a day.

Depends largely on geography. You'd likely get about half of that in Arkansas. Also, Premiere and Suntracker aren't comparable brands.
