02 yamaha 250hp ox66

with the key switch off still getting fire to stator un pluged stator from rectifier and wires cooled down but show curent from rectifier were it plugs to stator took fly wheel off stator looks black in a few places but no wire showing any help would be a blessing thanks

May want to reword your post as I am not sure what "still getting fire to stator or wires cooled down but show curent from rectifier were it plugs to stator" means

Could the wires be getting hot enough to catch on fire?

with the key switch in the off position wires got hot enough to catch on fire "stator wires".. so i unpluged stator wire from the rectifier and the stator cooled down.. then i checked the rectifier and had voltage of 11volts going to the stator "with the key switch in off positon ".
