03 Bayliner 185 with Merc 4.3, random beeping

This is weird. All of the gauges work and look normal. But while underway and at random times, there is an occasional short beep from the dash. Sometimes it will repeat or go away as soon as it starts. This is while cruising under 3k rpm and with the trim all the way down to rule out thermal issues. Engine fluids all look good and the oil is at the top of the level mark on the dipstick.

Any suggestions?

Could be a loose connection or several other things, but until it stays ON it will be hard to find. Does anything happen other then the beep?

Thanks. Wasn’t sure where to put this since it’s a polite beep and not the main alarm buzzer. Nothing else happens that I can tell and the motor sounds very smooth.

Most likely a bad connection somewhere
Check grounds to ECM

Well, looks like the Mercury shop manual I ordered can’t get here soon enough. The boat has started dieseling. Yea, I searched threads and see how dangerous that is. Will be busting out the old timing light
