'03 Merc 115 2+2

Hello all, new here. I have a 2003 merc 115 saltwater that has been called a 2+2. it runs on 2 cylinders below 2800 rpm & all 4 over that. Problem is it runs like crap at idle speed and will shut off frequently at idle. Any ideas? It has new plugs and runs great above idle speed.

My 1997 115hp 2+2 ran like crap at low speed too when I got it. I replaced the plugs and perforrmed the link, sync, and timing procedure exactly as described in the manual and it runs good now. You still notice when the other 2 cylinders kick in but it will now idle down to 600 rpm an idle at that speed all day.

Thanks, is this a "DIY" project or a return to the shop procedure? I'm a handy guy.

My bottom two kick in at about 1800 rpm.
