03 Yamaha 250 hpdi

I have heard all sorts of info on these engines. I am looking at a 03 HPDI 250 with 280 hours. If I buy it will yamaha still do the recalls or not. So how good or bad are these engines.

Wether or not Yamaha will honor any previous warranty issues with this engine will depend largely on the dealer you will be doing buisiness with.You will now be well out of warranty so that dealer has no obligation to do that work for little compensation.Extended warranties apply as well.Outboard manufactures bone dealers for the most part on labor rates for warranty repairs and dealers are becoming increasing reluctant to take on any except a unit they have sold and represent.What if any issues are you having?

actuall warrenty most likly not have your dealer run the seriel number and check for warrenty status.
while your at it check that all the updates have been done.
most code 90 updates are done reguardless of warrenty status.
that motor had at least 4 code 90's required.
