My 2004 25 HP Merc (OT838208) with remote controls runs fine and shifts into forward OK but will not go into reverse. Seems like there is a problem with the rod running down to the tilt lock preventing the shift lever(s) from going into reverse. It's like it the rod is off track or the travel is limited somehow and I can't see enough of it's travel path to figure what's wrong. (I've broken two plastic shift rod connectors trying to force the issue)
