05 4.3ltr v6 carburetored engine running on

Hey guys ive a 4.3ltr v6 carburetored engine on my 18ft campion 545. Well serviced and approx 100hrs on the clock.

Been running perfectly, althought recently its started running on sometimes when i turn it off. Only happens sometimes and more likely after skiing (heavy effort work)

Its doesnt does it all the time, and its just like a few splutters after u turn the key off. Also this is usually followed with a strong smell of petrol.

Starts no problems afterwords.

Any ideas or thoughts ?

Hi, Well for starters the timing could be out of adjustment, or the idle could be set to high, Could be bad gas, Water ect.

Had the same issue with my 2003 4.3. I can mask the symptom and make run on stop with 89 octane or just let it run for a minute prior to shutting down.
