Boat is newish to me, as I've only had it out on the water a handful of times. I've replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs so far.
The problem: The boat has done this four times now. Boat starts easily enough any other time, but it will cut out after 100-200 yards or so (guessing anyways). Just completely dies. Then it takes it several cranks to start. Once started, it doesn't (yet anyways) do it again for several hours or even at all. Each time it has happened, the boat has set for 30 minutes or more as we were swimming or just chatting. But it also seems to happen when we really give it a lot of throttle. I can give it a lot of throttle when pulling skiers or just going fast any other time, so I don't know if that matters or not.
In searching on here, I've found that one person had a very similar issue, and ended up having a loose ignition switch wire. I checked mine yesterday and tightened them up just to be sure.
Another thought: We'd only had the boat out once, but discovered the gimbal was bad. So I took it in for service and had them check the fuel gauge as well. So perhaps they knocked some gunk loose? The boat came with a full tank (and stabilizer added to it). I'm down to about 1/2 tank now (or a little more), so I was going to stick some new gas in it with the old gas to see if that did anything.
Any other thoughts? Fuel pump? Vapor lock? (I checked the hoses last time and didn't see anything that would indicate vapor lock)
