'05 Glastron SX 195 Side Exit Exhaust

I'm looking to install side exit exhaust on my '05 SX 195 with a Volvo Penta 5.0. Has anyone ever done/seen this install? I have a couple pictures of a guy who had this system and there are some youtube videos floating around - same make/model engine size etc. I'd like to use Corsa side exit components but forego the full captain's call system at this time at just run straight pipes. Any thoughts?

From what I hear, you have to have at least a balance tube with the side exhaust. Basically if your on the side of the boat all your hearing is a 4 banger basically. I would eather invest in that or straight out back under a swimplatform or something.

I have side exhausts on a 26' Crownline (7.4L MPI-B3).

Mine were factory installed. I suspect they put them out the side because of the transom design.

They sound fine, particularly at idle. I run them closed the majority of the time. I have a on dash switch that allows me to run them open, or closed. My choice. You can just see them, in this pic.

Nice looking boat.

I like the way they look also, but have to say that I saw a boat (23+ ft) come by in a cove this weekend and it sounded like a 4 cylinder on slow cruise... I really did a double take.. Kinda odd.. I think most people won't notice though.

The other issue with thru-hull is that if you're spewing water down the side of the boat, this fuel/water mix LOVES to stain the gelcoat. I've got thru-hull on mine and I absolutely detest cleaning it... It's the first thing I've got to do when the boat comes out of the water, unless I want two streaks down the back of the boat.
