05 Yamaha F115 Oil blow-by cracked pistons

05 F115 oil blow-by problem:

Upon further investigation,

#2 & #3 pistons were cracked causing the oil blow-by problem.

I see the part # have changed, did they change or update the pistons?

Has this been a problem w/ the f115, if not what caused it.

Should I think about trading it in?

sounds like carbon build up on and behind the piston rings and grooves. after the rebuild, start using Yamaha Ringfree all the time. Good Luck!

It's a four stroke. Carbon build-up should be a non-issue.

Where is RODBOLT ON THIS ONE?

No just kidding, runs like a champ, like brand new, (waiting on that next piston to crack),(Hopefully not?)
