HELP !!! Bought a 06 Glastron sx175 with a busted engine and only 45 hrs on boat. Purchased a new rebuilt 4.3 carb engine. Rebuilt all components concerned including carb. Which looked brand new on the inside. Installed new Holley marine carb kit. Tried to fire engine and fuel was pouring out of carb vent into engine.....of course it wouldn't start. Disassembled carb to double check everything including float level. Everything looked great. Decided to check pump pressure should be 5 to 7 psi ...over 12 psi on Guage...what is going on with that ????? Checked Manuel's and Internet with no results. Note boat has not run since 2011. All old fuel drained, lines blew out ,filter changed so folks what's next ???

Sounds like the float needs adjusting to me. Make sure when the float is at the top that the needle is closing off the flow. You can blow through the carb, and cycle the float to see if it is closing tight. Good luck Dave-R

I'm assuming an electric pump? If so you need a pressure regulator. IMO the Holley doesnt have a chance holding back 12psi regardless of float adjustment.
I just got done dealing with a 7-8psi carter electric pump overwhelming a Q-jet.
Holley recommends 5-7.
