I've got a new to me 07 Vmax 150 (carb'd). It runs and starts fine. I am looking it over and was curious about the operating temps on these. I idled and ran the motor for proababy 30 min and then idled back to the dock. I took the cover off with the motor running and put my hand on every cylinder. They were warm, but not very hot. I could have left my hand on them for eternity. I know a general rule for my older motors is you shold be able to leave your hand on the head for a couple seconds and then it should be too hot to continue. I was curious if this is normal operating temps or if the thermostats were stuck open? Air temp was only about 45* and water about 50-55*. I did idle a couple hundred yards to the dock, as it it a large marina. Thanks for the help!
