08 115 Mecury Optimax Skeg Repair

Does anyone know what size and where to get a replacement skeg for this motor it is the 3 cyl 115 optimax.

I do not want the skeg guard thing you bolt on I want the correct aluminum skeg that needs to be welded on.

Also does anyone know if this can be done with the techno weld aluminium sticks that use low heat from a regular torch. You can see them on youtube.

No way... needs to be professionaly welded

No way... needs to be professionaly welded

Definately professionally welded, we used to knife edge and clamp into place and send out. Aluminum welding is an art.

The skeg is the only rudder your boat has. If it fails at high speed, bad things happen, and very quickly.
