I have what I think would be a good deal from the dealer yet need more info. Dealer is offering this glastron gt 205 08' with a 4.3 ... (hold over from last year) asking price is 21,700. It has a bimini top as well as bow and cockpit covers.. my other choice is a 05' sx 195 with a 5 liter engine for 14,500.. what's the better deal? going to look at the boats in the A.M. need info soon. thanks

I would go for the 2005. The V-8 will have better resale value and it is the more appropriately equipped boat motor wise. a 20+ foot boat with this motor unless is it an MPI motor will be a tad underpowered for this boat. Probably why it did not sell last year. Plus you are not going to take the huge depreciation hit on the 05 like you will on the 08, the original purchaser of the 05 already took the hit.

The Tuna agrees unless you are set on a getting a new boat. I would not in this market consider that a good deal though (unless you live in an area where values have not fallen off as much).

4.3 is minimum, for the 205, unless it is a mpi.

You need to tell us which 4.3L and 5.0l you're talking about.

I would go with the GT 205....4.3L will do just fine.....has a warranty....no modifications....not beaten by anyone...yet....underpowered......who cares.....only if you want to pretend your a cigar boat....you'll just waste gas anyway....:p

You will NEVER be sorry with more power. Family, friends, equipment and gas add alot of weight to a boat. I always say go a little bigger(boat & engine). If you have to keep looking. There is a dealer in MO. that has 5 2007 tahoe 222 deck boats with 5.7 i/o's for 21,995. I believe they are new boats repossed from other dealer. They tech cant be resold as new. He also has one 2006 tahoe 222 with 5.7 he is asking $19,999. May be a drive for you but worth it.

If you are interested pm and I'll find the info.
