Just repowered my 18' cc. Picked the boat up yesterday evening. Got home and noticed the zinc tap does not protrude down in front of the prop. In fact it can't because it would hit the prop. It's there in the mount but looks like the tab was cut down flush so the prop would clear. Prop is a stainless, michigan wheel 13 1/4 x 17.
Is this normal or should the dealer have put on a different tab the extends outward so it doesnt hit the prop? See dealer response? I have always had a tab that could be adjusted.
Dealer Response -For that diameter stainless prop, we have to use the tab you have which is an authentic Yamaha part called a "sport tab". The boat shouldn't list because the size of that prop doesn't require as much of that tab / anode. The one on there from Yamaha is also an anode and you shouldn't feel any diference in performance / nor see the boat listing more. Let me know how it feels though.
