I am looking to replace the bimini and I'm sure most will agree the 1.25" square tubing would be stronger than the 1" but I what I'm not sure of is the hardware. Our original bimini had the aluminum brackets with the pins attached by a small cable. I found this to be a big problem in that things were always catching on the pins or the bracket (when the bows weren't attached). So we upgraded to the stainless steel type like the ones in the picture below:
The issue is that I have to replace the end caps that have the eye in order to connect the bimini bow to this hinge. The replacement pieces are made of nylon (they look like a black plastic piece (see photo)
Does any one know if these nylon pieces are prone to breaking as they look kinda flimsy. If so, does anyone know if they come in a square stainless steel for 1.25" tubing?
