1.6L Sea Drive runs smooth then fades out

I have a pair of Sea Drives. Run smooth and will troll all day. The Strb engine fades out after running for a few miles at 3700-4000rpm. Jacking the trottle won't save it; it fads out but will restart straight a way or if flooded take a few minutes.<br /><br />They share a main tank, but this will happen even if the two are on seperate tanks.<br /><br />Is it possible the rectifier is getting too hot? Is this as simple as a fuel stavation problem, the filters are clean.

Retifier only makes AC volt to DC volts. Sounds more like a power pack is heating up. You don't say what year the motor is? Fades out what does that mean stops slowly, or stops?

its a 83-84.<br /><br />They ran strong in the spring. this is new.<br /><br />Runs well than after 1 hour it cuts out in about 5-10 seconds. Pumping the throttle almost saves it but not quite. It restarts right a way, but fades again.
