# 1 cylinder On a V-4 / Timing

I have a 1986 Johnson 110 hp (J110TLCDC) Need to know where the # 1 cylinder is located to set my WOT Timing and how many decrees @ what rpms. Going to back boat down the ramp to set my WOT Timing. Any tips would be nice ,Thanks a million GUYs..,John Mark :)

Should be top right.

If you're looking at the rear of the outboard, the top right should be just a little higher than the left. Top right is Number 1, top left Number 2, bottom right Number 3, bottom left Number 4.

You are not going to get the proper rpm for setting WOT backing down in a ramp with with the prop on the boat. What you need is either a test wheel or else take it out and run it with a buddy at WOT and setting it ,but this can be very dangerous. Check the sticky files on this forum for statically setting it. Much safer.
