Do you have any idea how many products there are that do not work as claimed? In the oil section of any store alone there are dozens of products that have been proven not to work - slick 50 for example. I'd bet alot of money that no mercury race team uses any oil at a 100:1 ratio during races.Originally posted by Tim Mathis:
Dont you think they would have been sued and made to quit selling it if not true.
Zmoz, I will take you up on that bet! Mercury race team member is where I found about this oil from! He is a Mercury Master Marine tec, Employed by Mercury Marine for 36 years now and been on thier race team for 22 years! You just lost that bet!!Originally posted by ZmOz:
Do you have any idea how many products there are that do not work as claimed? ZmOz where did you get your information on Changing it from 100:1 To 80:1 ???Originally posted by ZmOz:
Only if you want to kill your engine! 100:1 is a BAD idea in any outboard no matter what oil you're running. Amsoil 100:1 should be run at no less than 80:1. The biggest problem is no matter how well the oil protects at 100:1, it does not leave enough of a film behind when you shut the motor down. This doesn't prevent internal corrosion very well and doesn't give you very much protection on the next start up.
