Building a 1959 Aluma-Craft Deep C. Thinking the carb needles need to be changed to non-rubber tip solid needles. Hopefully I wont have to buy four carb kits for a smaller outboard?.... Oh boy...

It is my understanding vintage oem rubber tip needles are not ethanol compliant. So far I havent found an ethanol compliant rebuild kit. Yet ethanikt compliant carb kits are available for the smaller more popular outboards.

Yes, you got that right. I checked the with them on the whole kit, they said they dont believe the kits are complaint. I will double check with the individual needle and seat sets. Thanks.....

I just dropped $279.00 to convert to short shaft, got to figure something out.

Other new needles are solid, they don't have the shoulder end with the tiny spring that goes in the needle. Males me wonder if there is a harmonic vibration that lifts the needles off the seats at a certain r.p.m. ? Thoughts......

Our 1965 90hp was the predecessor to you your 100 hp. Looking in its parts catalog, the 'Float Valve Assembly" Part #379611, used in it, doesn't have the spring shown for the 100 hp carb Float Valve Assembly. The spring may be there to dampen out sloshing fuel in the float chambers.

No matter what I do I cant get a pic to send. Recieved the short extension housing and driveshaft UPS today. 3 and 1/2 inches shorter at 279 bucks.
Shorty extension housing is 1 1/4" tall, enough to house the water pump components...
