Re: 100hp & 115hp johnson's

I had a 79 evinrude 100. IMHO Best motor ever made. Put around 2000 hrs on my motor between 79 and when I sold boat in 91, never cleaned a carb, never decarbonized, changed lower unit oil once, and water pump impeller once. It just ran. A bit finnicky to start in morning, but then would fire as soon as you touched the switch all day. Was a bit of a gas hog too at WOT. Wish they still made motors like that one. Bet its still running today.

Major difference in the centre crankshaft bearing. The 79 V4 blocks got the same bearing as the V6, The 77 had a much smaller bearing.
