Re: 105 chrysler - how fast?
If you have the option, play around with props. You might squeeze 2 or 3 MPH more. You can pull a skier out on two skis, but deepwatering a slalom skier might be a little dicey. You will need an experienced skier to get out. You have plenty of speed for skiing: you need about 22 mph; 18 for wakeboarding. And definitely buy a tube.
Also, I forgot to mention: Play around with the tilt pin if you do not have power tilt and trim. The optimal setting is to have the cavitation plate parallel and even with the bottom of the boat. You may even be able to raise the engine on the transom by one inch. Those mid-legs were 1 inch longer than the later Chrysler and Force one piece lower unit midlegs. Tilt one pin closer to the transom to pop out a skier--not necessary with a wakeboard.
If you can scratch up props, (Try The Chrysler Crew) you would want a 13 X 17 for skiing for hole shot and popping out skier and a 13 X 19 for general use and top end. If you absolutely can not find a 13 X 17, I have one with a few dings in it. It is serviceable now but should be repaired. So if you need to talk about it contact
