110 Johnson/rectifier

Hi guys
Put new tach on it zeros out when key is turned but no rpms someone said could be rectifier where is it located and how hard to replace myself ?
Thanks for your help. PS tach is set on 6

Have no clue what motor you are working on. But in general, a rectifier looks like a little can thing with a triangular base, with a couple of yellow wires and a red wire. Normally close to a long terminal strip full of wires. You don't replace it without first testing it unless you like to spend money.

the guys on this site are extremely helpfull and can assist with virtually any problem but supplying a model number (or at very least HP and model year) is a must.
I just replaced the rectifier on my 1988 Johnson 110 due to a similar issue with my tach.
Post a model number and Im sure you will get plenty of help.
