I have a scored piston missing ring on me 94 115 and am in the process of tearing down.

?s I dont ever remember anyting strange happening. just a slow loss of performance and increasingly hard starting. how can i loose a whole ring and not notice???

VRO is disconected. I ad oil and then gas to the amount so I know i didnt forget to add the oil...

? I am going to rebuild. Is there any fun stuff I could do to get a bit more out of this motor while I have it apart8)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: 115 Better rebuild?!

If you broke a ring (probably on the starboard side, right?) that's a good indication the motor was lugging. Lugging that motor will not only cause these problems but it means it wasn't putting out theperformance it should. Tell us more about your set up. I'd almost bet you can get more performance without doing anything to the blok except a good rebuild.

Re: 115 Better rebuild?!

sorry for the slow replys.

I have a 16' glastron, it only weighs about 800 lbs not including the motor, 19p stainless turned at 5200.

I was thinking along the lines of polishing the intake, maybe port??? I would have no clue how much of that to do tho.

has anyone ported the intake? and with what results?
