I broke my port stern bracket on my 1973 115 HP Johnson 115ESL73M. The part number I found is 0386005 and is not available. I found this is a quote from ezeke on these forums. "The part # is 0319448 or 0386005. It's called a port stern bracket." I have been able to locate several of the Part# 0319448 versions used but I need confirmation that these part numbers are indeed interchangeable. The 0319448 parts I found say they are from 70 HP Evinrude motors but they look correct. Any knowledge you could pass on would be appreciated. Thank you.

There is one Bombardier dealer in the US that still has 1 new pc of 386005 still in stock. Contact him to purchase:

I am in San Diego. It looks like pot metal so no it can not be welded with integrity.

It's not pot metal it's aluminum

It may be aluminum but it is very porous so I did not think it could be welded. I will take it to a weld shop and see what they say.

I contacted the Bombardier dealer emdsapmgr posted and am waiting for a reply. I am checking craigslist for old junk motors as well but I can get a used replacement off ebay for <$40 if part #0386005 is interchangeable with part #0319448.

To anywhere in the US from anywhere in the US is a cheap and easy deal. You want fun try shipping something to Canada. As soon as you try to cross the border, that's when the fun starts.

Hmm. Drugs and Guns seem to make it across easily

I would expect the transom clamp to be forged aluminum, for strength. I would think it would be weldable.

I think racerone is in Canada. It may well be weldable but it would be likely more durable and a lot less expensive to replace used for about $40 vs $100 or so to weld. This brings me to my original question. are part #'s 0386005 and 0319448 interchangeable?
