115 HP Johnson Stalls when on on plane

Hi guys - I just got my 2004 115HP Johnson back from the shop - it needed a new fuel pump and it was replaced. The Rubber ball was replaced too.

When I put it in gear and puts a small wake its fine - when I give it gas and it goes to get up on plane the throttle goes loose and it stalls. It seems to lose the throttle power.. If I ease slow into it and let it build it seems to be fine.

Any ideas what would cause that?

Possible when the mechanic put the fuel pump in he didn't tighten something?

I originally took it into the shop because I had issues getting it started - that seems to be fine now.

Called the mechanic and he said check the spark plugs so o swapped them out. Here's a pic of the old ones. 1 of them had some crud built up on it. The one on the left
