115 hp merc bearing

hi guys is this bearing cracked or is it made this way it looks to be made this way this is on a 115 merc serial number oc106992 this is the top crank bearing thanks for any help in advance

The original bearing in the motor I am building looks like that. It appears to be how they manufactured the retainer.

That is just the bearing 'cage' holding the rollers into place.

Think of it as a flat piece of sheet metal with slots punched out for each roller, then wrapped around so the ends abutt, and the cage and rollers go inside the bearing race.

No problem.

Roll each of those rollers and inspect carefully for any irregularity on their surfaces, they should all be perfect with no pits or flaking of the hard surface.
