First...at full throttle, the linkage arm popped off of the small black plastic clip on carb. I adjusted the arm so it longer pops off but now when I have it set at almost full throttle (on water), it's running at half throttle or even less. There's not a lot of room to adjust this rod but can this be my problem...the linkage? Motor runs great otherwise...good idle, no bogging, no stalling. It's a 1988 Winner CC 115 HP Suzuki same year. Thanks for any info.

What you did was obviously not what you were supposed to do. Fix the popping off problem with a new clip if that's the problem. Adjustments are provided on carburetor linkages for fine tuning purposes between carburetor opening and ignition system synchronization. It's generically called "link & sync" which yours is now obviously incorrectly set. A service manual is your friend.
