115 Johnson 1970 (115esl70D) question

Hello! it has been a while since I have been on... but have upgraded and have a question, and need help.

The "STOP NUT" on the starter has gone missing, and I simply wanted to know if it mattered what nut when on to replace it? does anyone know the thread and size off hand?

The part # is 307396 and is available at any BRP dealer for around $ 7.00. It's a special locknut.
