115 johnson 1979 v4 seahorse prop ?

How can i check to see if my prop shear pin is broken. i put in gear and tired to spin from the prop. is that all i have to do. is there another way to check is pin may be broken. What should I be looking for.

Crabahalic,<br /><br />If your engine is a '79', it doesn't have a shear pin. You have a rubber hub in the prop that performs the same function.<br /><br />It (hub) could be spun. This will show itself as the engine revving, but not transferring load to the prop blades.
