Re: 115 johnson miss at idle

Possible carb issue. If one of your idle passages gets restricted, the engine can develop a "lean sneeze". This is an occasional miss (only at idle) caused by a lean condition inside the carb. Not an ignition problem. Requires disassembly and cleaning of the internal passages of the carb. A Gumout type product will dissolve/remove the fuel restriction. Make sure your idle is set at the correct rpm. Should be set when the boat is floating normally in the lake, in forward gear. Set idle to 650-700 rpm's. It will labor and stall out if much below this rpm.
