Alright. My winter project is finally done, so I went out and put bunny ears on the motor to make sure it ran fine. Well it started right up but after taking the casing off of the motor there was water coming out of the #1 (top) spark plug. After taking the plug out and retightening it, it still had water coming out. On top of that, there wasn't any water spraying out of the exhaust. So we thought that maybe the ears wasn't tight enough and took it down to the lake. Get to the ramp and put it in the water just enough to start the engine (didn't take it off the trailer). Same thing happened. Water was still coming out of the spark plug and the exhaust wasn't pumping out water. Any thoughts on what this might be? Any help is appreciated.

This happened to me as well. The part is the water jacket. Hopfully you don't braek as many bolts as i did!

Thanks for the reply. I talked to a mechanic and he said it was the water jacket. Got that and it is better but it's still not as perfect as it should be.

Re: 115 Mercury Help!!!!

We usually dry out the motor, and use some silicone around the spark plug, to plug the leak.
